Crazy Puffin was originally purchased circa 1971 as a hull and deck kit from the moulders by her first owner. She was fitted out with bulkheads and floor but further progress was halted by illness. Owners Comments
The Achilles 24 is probably one of the best small cruiser/racers of its size and offers exciting performance combined with robust seaworthiness. Crazy Puffin has been fitted out to an exacting specification, and has been rigorously maintained since her launch in 1992. She has been raced very successfully, regularly winning Lymington club series and regattas in her class. She demonstrates excellent sea keeping qualities and has proved herself on many cross-channel cruises, as well as the usual Solent weekend trips. Whilst her accommodation is more modest than more recent higher volume yachts she has enough room for a couple or a young family to cruise in comfort and safety. For exciting sailing on a modest budget the Achilles 24 ticks all the right boxes, and Crazy Puffin is one of the nicest you will find. We think she has been pretty special!

Practical Boat Owner reviewed the Achilles 24 in their "Blue Chip Boats" series in April 2006.
